Efficient, environmentally safe and user friendly, all the systems products are flexible and

upgradeable units that are either diesel or electrically powered. Each model comes equip-

ped with a computer control system that enables the operator to use the equipment effici-

ently while accurately tracking production rates, operating hours and several other critical

project attributes. Customized programs tailored to the needs of the operator and the pro-

ject are also available.

Hydrodemolition is a fast and efficient method of concrete removal, without damaging the

surrounding structure and imbedded rebar, utilizing the power of high-pressure water. A

jet of high-pressure water is directed at the surface of the concrete where it penetrates the

voids and micro-cracks. When the water pressure inside the voids overcomes the pressure

of the concrete a “blast” occurs. A robotic unit is used to accomplish a series of blasts in

a controlled manner.

The high-pressure water is delivered to the robot through flexible high-pressure hoses. The

hoses are connected to a lance, which is mounted in a gimbal. As the water travels down

the lance it meets a nozzle. It is the nozzle that creates the high-pressure jet of water and

the gimbal - mounted lance, which manipulates the jet. The lance is mounted in a roller

assembly, which is attached to a beam. The roller assembly traverses the beam as the

lance manipulates the jet of water. The robot operates fully automatically by its onboard

computer system and it is controlled either by a lightweight hard wired or wireless radio

remote. A shoulder harness is provided for operator comfort and ease of operation. The

unique and innovative design of the Aquajet Systems “Aqua Cutter” a robot allows for con-

trol of the lance’s angle of attack, lance speed, degree of oscillation, and the number of

traverses required to remove the concrete to a determined depth and desired level of qual-

ity. This is referred to as “selective removal”. This means the unsound concrete will be re-

moved while leaving the sound concrete with a superior bonding surface.

Hydrodemolition is ideal for companies who

specialize in bridge, tunnel and high surface/

concrete demolition work. Implementing the

most advanced robotic system and high-pres-

sure water jets, the process removes areas

of loose deteriorated concrete from struc-

tures like pillars, bridges and dams. It

creates a “craggy” surface that is

much like the strong bond that is

usually achieved by using a jack

hammer. However, unlike a

jack hammer, our systems

equipment won''t harm rebar or

cause microcracks and is less labor

intensive.

The equipment can also be used in concrete restoration jobs and rehabilitation projects

as well as for resurfacing and prepping walls before repainting

The EDS Lance System
All models of hydrodemolition robots are equipped with our outstanding world wide

patented Equal Distance System, EDS, lance movement system and the unique

nozzle system.

Nozzle System
Aquajet Systems unique nozzle system is designed for large scale Hydrodemolition pro-

jects. With its extreme high efficiency and extended life span it is probably the best

Hydrodemolition nozzle on the market. The Aquajet Systems nozzles are available in

a wide range of different sizes.

The EDS lance system together with
the TC control can manage an angle
of the lance attach direction up to 45
degree to each side, without loosing
power from the jet.
All Aqua Cutter robots utilize the EDS
system.

The water jet loses power rapidly as it
leaves the nozzle. Therefore, it is
necessary to keep the water jet orifice
as close to the concrete surface as
possible. The EDS allows you to put
the power of the water jet where you
need it most.
